What a wonderful thing to do! I sent the link to my roommate, who promptly said, “I WANT THEM ALL!”

I used to volunteer at my local Humane Society but my house started filling up 🙂 It’s too easy to fall in love there…

Anita - May 11, 2010 - 4:00 pm

I wish someone would come and drop Jazzy in my lap!

Ruth - May 12, 2010 - 11:18 pm

Wow, that Husky is stunning! They’re all pretty good looking dogs actually. I hope they find homes soon 🙂

JK - May 14, 2010 - 7:25 am

Aw… so sweet. I’d adopt all of them if I was there!

The MOnday Herd

I think Monday is slowing becoming the most raddest(yes it’s a word!) day of the week now with the ‘ol Monday Herd; watch out Friday……..here we come.

Ya know what they say, “Variety is the spice of life”.  With that in mind, you should really check out The Tallest Man on Earth, and while reading this, you should listen to King Of Spain.  Before you make an rash decisions, take a deep breath, listen to the song once through, then………..listen to it again.  You’ll be humming it the rest of the day, trust.

On the topic of royalty, there were two women in my life that quite possible felt like royalty this past Sunday.  If you guessed my mother, then well you guessed one of them!

The other……………….. well you’ve never been introduced, and neither was I until Friday.

The new lady in my life; Overjoyed!!!!!  Weighing in at 55lbs with 46492 tattooed in her left year and 48A tattooed in her right, she is the newest addition to The Herd.  She was also our Mother’s Day gift to our Ma this year.  (oh and at the track they tattoo ID’s in the dogs ears)

She is a two year old greyhound that we rescued from the CT Greyhound Adoption.  She is the sweetest girl, and when she came over and started investigating her new house and meeting her new roomates, Tech began to foam at the mouth.  I am pretty sure this is the first female dog that he has spent anytime around.  I think it was his doggie way of blushing!  Hahaha, Tech you ‘ol dog you.

So as I write this, Joy(it’s what we call her for short, Overjoyed is her racing name)  is fitting in right proper.  She has gone on a few ‘tears’ in the backyard and put Tech to shame.  She has kicked Jake off his bed and she has already made her mark on the family.

What’s cool about adopting a Greyhound is that you get all their racing information, Joy’s well….. let’s say she wasn’t a natural born racer.  Some of the comments on her racing card are as follows: ” no contender, trouble 1st turn, never in it, tangled up 1st turn”.  I am sure after those races, Joy felt pretty crappy.  Well I am gonna go ahead and say she probably feels like a queen now, and there is no reason why she shouldn’t.

Looooooooooooooooooove the new addition to your Herdies! 🙂 Your Dad sent out an email to all the Aunts/Uncles earlier this week, she is sooooo pretty!

P.S. Simon/Fred is a little jealous he didn’t make a photo shoot! lol Hey hangs out with my Dad all day in the den while he is “photo-shopping” 😉

kelli - May 10, 2010 - 5:25 pm

this is fantastic!!! they look to be getting on so well already, and tech does seem to be quite enamored. that shot of the three of them at the door is priceless… nice work, on the pics *and* the adoption.

serena - May 10, 2010 - 6:21 pm

This is a fab series, love them.

JK - May 11, 2010 - 9:48 am

I missed all that fun – wish I was there!
Great collar Joy’s got.

Anita - May 11, 2010 - 3:58 pm

She’s gorgeous! And so tiny compared to Jake! We don’t really have greyhound racing in Canada…which I’m going to say is probably a good thing!

Can’t wait to see more of her in the future!

The Monday Herd

Foshizzle my Rhodizzle(get it rhodesian + izzle = rhodizzle?!!?)

Before I get started on the NEW product offering, we need to get some music sorted out.  You need to check out this band: The Thermals. More specifically “Now we can see“.  Oh and don’t forget to turn it up to eleven!

Ok so now on to the important stuff.  Dogs.  If you have been following my flickr feed you may have picked up on some subtle hints as to what today’s Monday Herd is all about.

We are now offering ROCK STAR dog sessions!!!!

‘What’s a Rock Star session?”  Hold your horses!  I am getting there.

A ROCK STAR sessions ain’t for everybody, it’s for those who co exist with dogs and want something a bit different, a session off the beaten trail;  it’s the session that took the path least trampled.  Sure, sure the regular session is still cool, but the ROCK STAR session is like a regular session but with dyed hair, tattoos and one mother of an attitude.(don’t let the attitude fool ya, it’s the same price as a reg. session).

I’ll let the pictures do the talk’n.  Tech rocked the modeling job like, well his job.

ty foster photography

*oh we realize there are no pics with wigs or hats(Tech flat out refused…apparently it was in his contract), but hey doesn’t mean we can’t do a shoot with your dog who is rockin a wig!

Brushing up on my skills

Soooooo, last Monday (geesh where does time go) I attended the Grays IN-CAMERA workshop….

They were mean and made us take tests…. lots of them.

HA! Just kidding, the Grays were awesome to the max and so was their workshop.  If you ever have the opportunity to rock that shop you should, it’s totally worth every cent.  The workshop basically (in one sentence) taught us how to truly understand off camera lighting and how to get an image you want IN camera rather than using photoshop to achieve the look you want.  We all sat down for the first part of the day and they taught us all the ‘text-book’ stuff we should know and answered our bagillion and a half questions; the second part of the day we got to go out and shoot, wielding our new found knowledge we stormed Hartford!!(well not really, just sounded cooler saying we stormed Hartford rather then we drove there and walked around).

It was a good day.  I have some cool ideas brew’n now(more to come on this)

Oh yea and here are some images from the workshop…….
