The Monday Herd

Foshizzle my Rhodizzle(get it rhodesian + izzle = rhodizzle?!!?)

Before I get started on the NEW product offering, we need to get some music sorted out.  You need to check out this band: The Thermals. More specifically “Now we can see“.  Oh and don’t forget to turn it up to eleven!

Ok so now on to the important stuff.  Dogs.  If you have been following my flickr feed you may have picked up on some subtle hints as to what today’s Monday Herd is all about.

We are now offering ROCK STAR dog sessions!!!!

‘What’s a Rock Star session?”  Hold your horses!  I am getting there.

A ROCK STAR sessions ain’t for everybody, it’s for those who co exist with dogs and want something a bit different, a session off the beaten trail;  it’s the session that took the path least trampled.  Sure, sure the regular session is still cool, but the ROCK STAR session is like a regular session but with dyed hair, tattoos and one mother of an attitude.(don’t let the attitude fool ya, it’s the same price as a reg. session).

I’ll let the pictures do the talk’n.  Tech rocked the modeling job like, well his job.

*oh we realize there are no pics with wigs or hats(Tech flat out refused…apparently it was in his contract), but hey doesn’t mean we can’t do a shoot with your dog who is rockin a wig!

Brushing up on my skills

Soooooo, last Monday (geesh where does time go) I attended the Grays IN-CAMERA workshop….

They were mean and made us take tests…. lots of them.

HA! Just kidding, the Grays were awesome to the max and so was their workshop.  If you ever have the opportunity to rock that shop you should, it’s totally worth every cent.  The workshop basically (in one sentence) taught us how to truly understand off camera lighting and how to get an image you want IN camera rather than using photoshop to achieve the look you want.  We all sat down for the first part of the day and they taught us all the ‘text-book’ stuff we should know and answered our bagillion and a half questions; the second part of the day we got to go out and shoot, wielding our new found knowledge we stormed Hartford!!(well not really, just sounded cooler saying we stormed Hartford rather then we drove there and walked around).

It was a good day.  I have some cool ideas brew’n now(more to come on this)

Oh yea and here are some images from the workshop…….

The Monday Herd | Ct Pet Photography

Where do the weekends go?

This Monday Herd lacks a bit of ridgeback and greyhound (unfortunate, i know), but trust, it is still full of some awesomeness.

So back in February, my close and rad friends Kim and Big Jeff got married(and I was the best man, awesome huh!) and in April they bought a house!  They rocked the quintessential American dream like it was their job.  Their house is awesome.  So this past weekend I and a bunch of other people got to help them move.

Now I have never helped anyone move and I have always heard horror stories about moving.  I am also pretty positive Dunkin Donuts made a commercial about how you need a coffee to give you energy because your friends lied to you and didn’t tell you that they needed help moving a sleeper sofa up three flights of stairs, blah, blah, blah.  This was not the case.

Well, I LOVED it.  I enjoyed every single minute of it.
This weekend was  definitely a “roll up your sleeves, use some elbow grease and lift with your legs” sort of weekend and it was awesome.  We accomplished a whole bunch of things.  Saturday we moved all the heavy stuff and there were a lot of people helping which made the day fly by.  Sunday was the skeleton crew but we duked it out with the ‘to-do’ list and we knocked the sucker out.  And yes, in between all the lifting and cleaning, I still still found time to take pictures.

Oh and before ya say “oh well Ty you helped Kim and Big Jeff  move into a new house and the majority of  the pictures are of Kozmo and Evan!”  All I can say is…. um well,  I got nothing, they were just so much more photogenic then a garage and basement full of boxes and boxes!

So here  she is the new house!

Give a dog a home | CT pet photography

I met Hot Water Rescue at the spring fling that the Humane Society put on and what a great organization they are!

Here is a little excerpt from their website

Hot Water Rescue is a rescue group formed and based out of Connecticut that rescues, fosters, and places dogs all over the United States. The reason Hot Water Rescue came together as the organization it is today is because we are all people who have worked with many dogs in different capacities, and learned of the injustices done to dogs all over, especially certain breeds, which happen to be the breeds that people tend to question.

They had three awesome dogs(who are up for adoption!) with them which I was able to grab some quick shots of.  They were such amazing dogs and three of the friendliest I have ever met! (In order not including the first picture: Natalie, Tucker, Jada)
