The Monday Herd | Ct Pet Photography

Where do the weekends go?

This Monday Herd lacks a bit of ridgeback and greyhound (unfortunate, i know), but trust, it is still full of some awesomeness.

So back in February, my close and rad friends Kim and Big Jeff got married(and I was the best man, awesome huh!) and in April they bought a house!  They rocked the quintessential American dream like it was their job.  Their house is awesome.  So this past weekend I and a bunch of other people got to help them move.

Now I have never helped anyone move and I have always heard horror stories about moving.  I am also pretty positive Dunkin Donuts made a commercial about how you need a coffee to give you energy because your friends lied to you and didn’t tell you that they needed help moving a sleeper sofa up three flights of stairs, blah, blah, blah.  This was not the case.

Well, I LOVED it.  I enjoyed every single minute of it.
This weekend was  definitely a “roll up your sleeves, use some elbow grease and lift with your legs” sort of weekend and it was awesome.  We accomplished a whole bunch of things.  Saturday we moved all the heavy stuff and there were a lot of people helping which made the day fly by.  Sunday was the skeleton crew but we duked it out with the ‘to-do’ list and we knocked the sucker out.  And yes, in between all the lifting and cleaning, I still still found time to take pictures.

Oh and before ya say “oh well Ty you helped Kim and Big Jeff  move into a new house and the majority of  the pictures are of Kozmo and Evan!”  All I can say is…. um well,  I got nothing, they were just so much more photogenic then a garage and basement full of boxes and boxes!

So here  she is the new house!

I met Hot Water Rescue at the spring fling that the Humane Society put on and what a great organization they are!

Here is a little excerpt from their website

Hot Water Rescue is a rescue group formed and based out of Connecticut that rescues, fosters, and places dogs all over the United States. The reason Hot Water Rescue came together as the organization it is today is because we are all people who have worked with many dogs in different capacities, and learned of the injustices done to dogs all over, especially certain breeds, which happen to be the breeds that people tend to question.

They had three awesome dogs(who are up for adoption!) with them which I was able to grab some quick shots of.  They were such amazing dogs and three of the friendliest I have ever met! (In order not including the first picture: Natalie, Tucker, Jada)

The Monday Herd | Ct Pet photography

I suggest, well I encourage you with a lot of encouragement(ha! like that?) to listen to Led Zeppelin’s ‘When the Levee Breaks’ at a volume that dosen’t encourage sleep or relaxation……after all the song is about a gnarly storm and levee breaking.  It’s not meant to be quiet…… BLARE THAT PUPPY!

So onto The Monday Herd, I think I am going to make this an ongoing theme, ya know every Monday.  I figure most of you hate Mondays, love coming home from work on Monday and are tired of hearing… “Hi (insert your name)… we need to talk about your TPS reports”.  So what better to brighten your Monday then read The Monday Herd.  Nobody wants a case of ‘the mondays’ and if ya got em, well hopefully I got the remedy.    So The Monday Herd, will be a short blurb about an awesome song, or an awesome something and a little slice of life of what’s goin on with the…………………… you guessed it!  The Herd!

So we covered the sick-nasty song of the week up above.  Now onto the wild ones. (at this point I have already wrestled with Tech twice and listened to LZ 4 times, on repeat, incase you where wondering.)

I have a queen sized bed, It’s an ample size for me, I am not jolly green giant by any standard, but I do like a good size bed.  Tech likes the bed too.   Take a queen size, divide by two (oh well it’s still pretty big!  Yea keep reading)   Ok, now divide in two again, and, again.  Now this is the size of the bed I woke up on this morning.  4 pillars of doggie gristle and paws pushing into me.  He had almost taken over the entire bed.  So anyways (this was totally not planned) I opened my eyes and thought “oh yes finally there is some sun today” and who do I see staring right back at me.  Tech.  His head was on a pillow, just hangin out.  Now just imagine this, You wake up on a literal sliver of bed and you see these huge dough eyes staring at you saying ” HI!  GOOD MORNING! I AM ON THE BED TOO!”  You could hear his little, well big tail wagging. ……….. This Monday was awesome.

Went downstairs, Jake was still sleeping; I ate crispix(which rule by the way) and Tech helped clean dishes.

The Monday Herd.. (sorry I wrote a lot)

that last shot made me smile because roux and i have this morning routine where i make cereal, check my email while i eat it, the whole time she’s sitting there just watching me….because she knows that when i’m finished she always licks the bowl. it’s cute.

Spring Fling | Ct pet photography

“Ruff Lauren”, “Vera Wag”, and “Liz Claibone” (get it!?)  were a few of the designer dog clothes that some of the adoptable dog models were sporting at the Connecticut Humane Society’s Spring Fling event.

It was awesome to be a part of this event, every dog in the fashion show was up for adoption and I think a bunch of them ended up getting adopted which was amazing!  It was a full house, full of vendors, people looking to adopt and dogs………dogs everywhere!

We were there too with a booth upstairs, we met a lot of cool people as well as some pretty rad dogs.

So on to the good stuff..

The author of “Blarney the Dog” book series was there with, yes you guessed it, Blarney!  I guess Tech isn’t the only one with his own book!

I am a total slacker and missed some of the dogs that went for the fashion show, so I only the highlights, but all the dogs were awesome and adoptable!

Sparky may be older, but he is wearing a tuxedo shirt for dogs; ya know he is there to party

I wish I had a better picture of his whole outfit, he was dressed as a biker with leather pants and all, his theme song was ‘Bad to the Bone’!

And last but not least, Diamond was rock’n out with some Liz Claibone.
